Orcs: not all are bad

I know you are all familiar with orcs.  Ugly brutes that could rip your average human being in half, smells like a sewer, vicious and warlike.  Some are like Tolkien's orcs (the original creator who derived it from the Old English word Hell Devil) others are known as Greenskins in Warhammer 40k/fantasy series and for those of you who are fans of World of Warcraft, need I say any more?

In my fantasy novel series(title still unnamed) not all orcs will be bad.  Though there will still be violent bloodthirsty ones like the ones you are all familiar with, but not all of them will be so.  Some of them will have either grown tired of fighting and decide to live and easier life devoted to heavy lifting or some form of manual labor, anything to avoid fighting.  Some will never give up their fighting spirit, but tire of taking orders from orcs or fighting pointless battles and will forge there own path and become a bounty hunter or sword-for-hire.

Those that make such decisions would never kill a human unless their own life was threatened, even then they might not kill humans.  They also become shunned by other orcs who do not share their views on life.  Mostly the are from the horde they abandoned.

There are also humans and dwarves that are not so forgiving.  In certain regions of Ziouch humans will have been attacked so often by orcs they may not be as understanding as some when it comes to friendly orcs.  With Dwarves they have been know to fight orcs time an again when not fighting other evils and when they have fought orcs, they still carry the grudges of fighting them whether they are still part of the horde or not.

The reason I am doing this is because I am experimenting with ideas and instead of having the orcs as villains all the time, I thought that why not have it half the time.
